To live liturgically is to live the Life of Christ. The Liturgical Year Course is a walk through the Liturgical Year, it is a walk with Christ, entering into His Life. The course begins with the feast of All Souls and then into Advent. After the Nativity we study the Epiphany, which includes the feasts of the Magi, the Baptism of the Lord and the Wedding at Cana. From there we move into the public ministry of Jesus as we study the Sermon on the Mount. We embrace the season of Lent as we look into the Temptation of Christ and then approach Holy Week as we learn about the Eucharist (Holy Thursday), the Mass and Calvary (Good Friday). We experience the joy of the Easter Season as we study the Resurrection and the Nature of the Church. The course ends with a beginning - the understanding of the Power of Pentecost and the gift of strength necessary to live a life of discipleship.
Please see Self-Study Questions
It is recommended that those using The Liturgical Year Course as a self study, watch a set of lessons (there are 5 sets below) and then schedule a 2 hour meeting to discuss lessons. A clergy member or lay catechist should be able to assist you in your studies. Please contact your local Catholic Church. It is helpful to keep a journal for the course to write down main points, questions and reflections.
